Context Labs announces the arrival of Tom Peters as an advisor and


CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Context Labs, an Enterprise Data Fabric Climate Tech company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Amsterdam, today announced that Tom Peters will join the growing team of Context Labs as an advisor and board member.

Peters’ career spans more than 40 years during which he has traveled the world, 67 countries and all 50 states, and delivered more than 2,500 speeches to more than five million people. Peters, author of 19 bestselling books, with over 10 million copies sold, is best known for his book titled In Search of Excellence: Lessons from America’s Best Managed Companies, considered “one of the three best business books of the century” (National Public Radio) and the “greatest business book of all time” (UK’s Bloomsbury Publishing). His latest book, Excellence Now: Extreme Humanismwas cited as the “Best Business/Leadership Book of 2021” (Strategy+Business).

Thomas J. Peters: Born in Baltimore and raised in Annapolis “with a lacrosse stick in one hand and oars on his shoulder”, Tom Peters resided in California, mostly in Palo Alto/Silicon Valley (where he was on the first list of ” 100 Most Powerful People in Silicon Valley”) from 1970 to 2000. He graduated in Civil Engineering from Cornell [B.C.E., M.C.E.], where he was included in The 100 Most Notable Cornellians, and earned an MBA and Ph.D. Stanford Graduate School of Business (credited with producing the first GSB doctoral dissertation on implementation); he has been honored by dozens of associations in areas such as management, leadership, quality, human resources, the campaign for more women in leadership positions, customer service, innovation, marketing and design. In the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970, he served two deployments to Vietnam (as a combat engineer in the legendary Navy Seabees) and “survived a tour of the Pentagon”. He served as White House/OMB substance abuse policy adviser in 1973-74; then worked at McKinsey & Co. from 1974 to 1981, becoming a partner in 1979; he co-founded McKinsey’s now gargantuan organizational effectiveness practice. In 1981, Peters founded Skunkworks Inc., The Palo Alto Consulting Center, and The Tom Peters Company, all in Palo Alto (he was on San Jose Mercury’s first list of Silicon Valley’s 100 Most Powerful People.) He and his wife Susan Sargent – tapestry weaver, textile entrepreneur, community activist and climate change activist – after many years residing on a 1,400-acre farm in Vermont, now lives on the edge of Buzzard’s Bay in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
